New Date for Shadow Wars Program

Heritage Village Museum has rescheduled the date for the Shadow Wars Program for August 15, 2012. We will be sending out other reminders through other media outlets (Facebook, email and the website).


Tonight’s program Shadow Wars has to be rescheduled for a later date. Heritage Village Museum is sorry for any problems this may have caused. Please keep checking our blog, website, or Facebook page for a new date.

Jessica Michna presented her final first-person program in conjunction with the First Ladies of Fashion exhibit. On June 8, 50 people enjoyed meeting “Eleanor Roosevelt” Afterwards guests spent the rest of the evening eating cheesecake, talking with friends, and with Eleanor Roosevelt.

Shadow Wars this Wednesday

Heritage Village Museum is continuing its Free Civil War Series Program with “Shadow Wars,” a lecture about the political culture of Ohio during the Civil War. Ohio, as a border state was deeply divided over the issues surrounding the Civil War. Dr. Christopher Phillips from the University of Cincinnati will be leading the lecture tomorrow night at 7:00 pm in the Hayner House this event is free to the public. Dr. Phillips will delve into all the political ruckus that occured prior to, during and after the Civil War. Dr. Phillips will elaborate on how this turbulent political culture shaped Ohio.


Fall will reach us before we know it. So why not start planning some fun fall activities? Heritage Village’s annual Haunted Village is happening three weekends in October. The dates are Fridays and Saturdays 12th and 13th, 19th and 20th, and 26th and 27th from 6pm to 10pm. The headless horseman will make a dramatic return to the Village. If you aren’t looking to be scared there other activities to see and do. Want to dance and have some fun there will be a DJ, why not pretend to be some one else and have your face painted.  Balloon animals make for a fun night. Why not finsih the night off with having your fortune told? Get ready for a fun and spooky time at Heritage Village’s Haunted Village.

First Ladies of Fashion

The First Ladies of Fashion exhibit will be closing soon. The last day is Sunday June 17, 2012. The Village and the exhibit are open that day from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. There are 14 replicated gowns ranging in first ladies from Martha Washington to Lady Bird Johnson. The cost of admission is $2.00. If you have any questions please call (513) 563-9484.

More Reminders!

  • The Eleanor Roosevelt Program is Friday June 8, 2012 at 7:00 pm pre-registration is required and the deadline  is June 5, 2012. Please call (513) 563-9484 to register. The cost is for non-members is $20 and $17.
  • There will be an open house on Saturday June 9 along with a vintage base ball tournament from 10am to 3pm. Along with the baseball tournament visitors can tour 10 of our historic buildings.
  • Summer Paint Out is fast approaching! Saturday June 16 the Village. All adult artists and high school are encouraged to come and paint from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
