Shadow Wars

Heritage Village Museum will be hosting another of its Free Civil War Program Series with “Shadow Wars.” Dr. Christopher Phillips will be leading the lecture. He is a professor of history from the University of Cincinnati. He research lies in Border States during the Civil War and Reconstruction era. This program is sponsored by the National Endowment of the Humanities. This program is FREE and will be begin at 7:00 pm in the Hayner House.

The Last of the Summer Paint Outs

On Saturday August 18th Heritage Village Museum will be hosting the last of the three Summer Paint Outs. Adult artists and high school art students are welcome to come and paint throughout the Village. They will then have their chance to display their artwork in the Heritage Village Museum Art Show in November. 10% of the proceeds will go to the Village as a fundraiser. This event is FREE and no reservations are required. The Paint Out will last from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. For any questions please call (513) 563-9484.

Living Like Kings Program

On Wednesday August 22nd Heritage Village Museum will be continuing their Free Civil War Program Series with “Living Like Kings.” Mr. Greg Fugitt, author of Fantastic Shadows Upon the Ground: The Thirthy-fifth Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War, will lead the lecture. Mr. Fugitt will delve into the everyday life of an average Civil War soldier: what they ate, what clothes they wore, and where they slept. Mr. Fugitt will also describe the differences between a low ranking soldier and a high ranking soldier. This program is FREE and will start at 7:00 pm in the Hayner House.

Second Session of Summer Paint Out

On Saturday July 21st Heritage Village Museum hosted their second of three Summer Paint Outs. 13 artists came to the Village and spent the day painting the the historic buildings located at the museum. These artists will have the chance to display their work at the Heritage Village Museum’s Art Show in November. 10% of the proceeds will go to the Village as a fundraiser. Pictures to follow.

Quilt Raffle

Check out the photos that will follow from the Village Quiters and the quilt they are making for the quilt raffle! Tickets are $1.00 for one ticket and $5.00 for six tickets!

Deadline fast approaching!

The deadline for raising funds for the Village is quickly coming up! The deadline is July 21st! We here at the Village are trying to raise $25,000 dollars that will be matched by a friend of the Village. For any questions or for a donation please call (513) 563-9484.

Rivers Institute Traveling Theatre

On August 10 at 7:00 pm there will be a FREE performnace at the Heritage Village Museum! The Rivers Institute Traveling Theatre troupe from Hanover College will perform, “Down by the River.” This performnace will both entertain and educate visitors of all ages-come and learn about the Ohio River Valley through folklore, science, music and much more!
